LET'S KOP THE DOSH
Lawro 6/09/2008
Manchester City are on the cusp of exciting times. They have a mega wealthy new owner, have bought Robinho and can dream of overtaking their greatest rivals, United.
But what slightly worries me is whether English football is in danger of losing touching with the average man in the street, the guy whose family goes to games and is the lifeblood of the game in this country.
Soon we'll have the £200,000-aweek player kissing the badge one week, demanding a move the next.
The rush of foreign investment will ensure the 39th game will happen sooner rather than later.
Now let's hope Liverpool wake up and smell the coffee.
They are a club in danger of going backwards very quickly with two warring owners, a chief executive at odds with the manager and a new stadium on the back-burner.
Maybe the investment at City will convince a knight in shining armour to save Liverpool, a great club, from going down the pan.

Fecking hell Lawro - your only JUST becoming concerned about the average man in the street - yet on the other hand you want Liverpool to join in. What a complete and total hypocrite.

Mark Bowen and Mark Hughes arrive for work at Carrington.
