I am hopeful that some of the good folk on Wookies can give me their views on which Broadband service to choose.
We currently use BT Broadband and have done for about 2 and a half years. In my opinion it has got continuously worse over that period. It is slower and slower to start each time and one day last week it took me 40 minutes to get on-line. I have tried the Homehub (twice) and couldn't get that to work. After many hours on the phone to Customers Service in India they eventually decided that the first hub was faulty so sent another 1 which took 2 weeks to arrive during which time we theoretically had no internet service, but received no rebate. The second one didn't work either, but I don't think it is faulty it is just their crap service. I am as p!ssed off as I can be with Customer Services not being able to deal with my problems and either passing me between Depts or hanging up on me completely. The last time I was having difficulty getting online I spent 3 and a half hours getting send around the houses by them and the final suggestion that they could come up with was that my computer must be tired so I should shut it down and let it rest until the morning! Thanks for nothing (except the huge phone bill!)
So I want to dump them and go elsewhere and would be grateful for any guidance in this area.
We run a small e-business so need to have Broadband access, but it does not have to be super fast, just reasonable. We don't do any downloading or gaming so just need to be able to deal with e-mail and a small website. Cost is not a huge consideration, but I wouldn't want to pay silly money, nor a cheap and nasty that is going to keep going down. And finally possibly the most important factor is easy to contact UK based Customer Service.
Please help and all views welcomed.
